Background & Objectives: The TTFC test was developed to assess childred¡¯s auditory comprehension, language comprehension, and working memory abilites. The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of the Korean version of the Token Test for Children-Second Edition (TTFC-K) in Korean children 3 to 4 years of age.
Methods: The TTFC-K and PRES-Receptive Language Test were given to 133 normal 3- to 4-year-old children who were divided into four age groups. The scores of the two tests were used for a concurrent validity study.
Results: Significantly high correlations were obtained between the TTFC-K and PRES-Receptive Language Test. The content validity of the TTFC-K was found to be significant. The differences among the total scores of the TTFC-K in each of the four age groups were also found to be significant.
Discussion & Conclusion: This study suggests that the Korean version of TTFC-2 is a valid tool for measuring language comprehension as well as working memory skills in children 3 to 4 years of age.
